Tennis Player Reader Reviews

Note from former confirmand who is an accomplished diver

Thank you so much for the wonderful copy of your fantastic book. I loved the way you portrayed your beliefs into the book. Once I started reading I just couldn't stop. My mom kept telling me to do my chores, but I was just sitting there reading. :)

We just got a new kitten, his hame is Schnurrbart. (This means moustache in german.)

From Son

Hi Mom - I need another book!  I'm giving one to the president of our company.  Let me know if you can help me out.  Thanks!!

Sharing a special moment...

I left LA at 6am to get home and we decided to go to Church and meet my son, his wife, his daughter and Claudia and her fiancee. After that we met at our home for lunch. As I was looking at the mail received, I saw the package with your book. To the surprise of all, I opened the book and found the story you published. My son Tony, who had the AVM and, daughter Claudia, who had the cancer were with us. God put this script together so we could share this special moment. I read most of the story to them, and when I was losing it, my wife Frances finished the story. We all had tears in our eyes and it was even more exciting to glance at the back of the book and find the picture there!!

I took the book to my other daughter, who is also a very strong Christian, and we had a good time reading it. Thanks for allowing me to share this small story with your readers and my family.

From Long Time Player and Coach

Congratulations on your publication. I haven't read the whole book yet, but i did read  chapter four about Henry cox. I met Henry in my early years of tennis and he was always so nice to me.  Not being from nebraska I knew nothing about his background. He certainly is an inspiration and it was wonderful of you to honor him with a chapter.

Work of art...

Dearest Sandy, Kari was kind enough to loan me your newest book. I loved it. Finished it last night and it was just a work of art. Hope it sells well for you because it is well worth it. Is there a connection regarding a line that said Kari's grandmother said? I gigled anyway regardless and felt good about that. Keep writing.

Amazing Experience...

The experience of interviewing people for Drop Shot was amazing. When you look people in the face and ask them questions with eternal meaning, they really think. They answer very thoughtfully. It is so much more important than where do you live what do you do, what friends do you have, what matches did you win or lose, how many children you have, or even how many grandchildren you have.

Re-examined joy for the game...

PTR professional wrote, "I wanted to thank you for a very pleasant interview in Hilton Head at the PTR Symposium. I am in a period of transition with my tennis career and really searching to redefine myself. Your questions for me were timely and got me to re-examine my joy for the game, how I started playing, where I've been and where I want to go from this point forward."

Importance of treating opponents...

"The topic in the story 'Treatment of Opponents', is so-o-o-o important. You could even use more examples if you had them," said Drop Shot's editor, Pamela Thompson upon reading this chapter. Pamela was team captain and played #2 singles for Lincoln Southeast High School. She played all four years on the varsity team at Vassar College, and obtained her M.S. in Journalism at the University of Kansas. She currently is Editor of L Magazine in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Reading about myself...

"I really enjoyed reading your story, Sandra. Good job. I felt like I was reading about myself (which of course I was!)," commented David Wheaton.

An honor to be a part of your book...

Bill Coad, tennis club owner, engineer, author, and former president of ASHRAE, a 55,000 member organization in 128 countries said, "It will be an honor to have my story in your book."
